Installing the Docati Word add-in 4.6

Installation

1. Download and run the installer. You can find it here: Docati Word Add-In.
   • The installer is a so-called Office Customization. Installation of these customization requires the VSTO Run-time. This will be automatically installed by the installer. If you are asked to restart Windows, the installer should continue automatically. It this does not work, run the installer again.
     If you want to install the VSTO Run-time yourself, you can download it here.
   • The add-in requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile. This will be automatically installed by the installer. If you are asked to restart Windows, the installer should continue automatically. It this does not work, run the installer again.
     If you want to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile yourself, you can download it here.
   • In most cases the installation does not requires administrative privileges. If a User Account Control popup does appear, please allow it to to make changes to your computer.
   • The add-in has been digitally signed (with a code-signing certificate), so you can make sure it comes from us "Docati (Robert te Kaat)" and hasn’t been tampered with. You should not get a warning for this. However, there have been reports in the past of people getting a big blue SmartScreen bar, that indicates the add-in is not well known by Microsoft. The SmartScreen-filter incorrectly assumes the add-in may be phishing software or malware. You must select ‘Run anyway’. It this option is not presented, you must contact your system administrator.
   • If during the installation the error message "The value of the property 'type' could not be parsed" appears, you ran into a known issue with Microsofts' VSTO-runtime. you can work-a-round it by deleting the file vstoinstaller.config in the folder c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\vsto\10.0.
   • The add-in adds a menu-item (ribbon) to Word, which will appear automatically when a document is opened.

Updates

• When an update for the add-in is available, Word will install it automatically.
  • Word checks once a week for updates. If an update is available and you want it instantly, you can force the update by running the installer again.
  • Installation of the update should not require administrative privileges.

Removal

• To remove the add-in, you can simply use the All Programs-menu in the Control Panel of Windows (look for "Docati").
