When an update for the add-in is available, Word will install it automatically.
The add-in checks periodically for updates. If an update is available and you don't want to wait for the next check, you can force the update by running the installer again.
Removal
To remove the add-in, you can simply use the All Programs-menu in the Control Panel of Windows (look for "Docati").
Troubleshooting
The installer is a so-called Office Customization. Installation of these customization requires the VSTO Run-time. This will be automatically installed by the installer. If you are asked to restart Windows, the installer should continue automatically. It this does not work, run the installer again.

The add-in requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later. This will be automatically installed by the installer if required (already included with Windows 10).

The add-in has been digitally signed (with a code-signing certificate), so you can make sure it comes from us "Docati" and hasn’t been tampered with. You should not get a warning for this.
We recently updated our code-signing certificate, causing Windows to not recognize the Word add-in anymore. This means the next couple of weeks you will be getting a big red or blue SmartScreen popup
that indicates the add-in is not well known by Microsoft. it will take some time (and installations) to get the proper reputation back for SmartScreen to no longer present this warning.
You must select ‘Run anyway’ (or first 'show details) to allow the installation. It this option is not presented, you must contact your system administrator.
If during the installation the error message "The value of the property 'type' could not be parsed" appears, you ran into a known issue with Microsofts' VSTO-runtime.
you can work-a-round it by deleting the file vstoinstaller.config in the folder c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\vsto\10.0.
The add-in adds a menu-item (ribbon) to Word, which will appear automatically when a document is opened.
